Welcome to Sarah Scott Middle School! My name is Joe Thoma, and I am honored to serve as the Principal and to be part of a school community dedicated to student growth and success.

My journey in education began in the classroom and has included roles such as Behavior Interventionist, Behavior Interventionist Coach, and Assistant Principal within our school corporation. In every role, my focus has remained the same: building positive school cultures, supporting teachers, and ensuring that all students feel safe, respected, and ready to learn. I firmly believe that strong relationships among students, families, and staff are the foundation of a successful school.

I am excited to continue building on the strong traditions of Sarah Scott Middle School. From PBIS and the Scottie Store to WSSN News and the Sarah Scott Live Stream, the Christmas Store, Grandma’s Cupboard, and many other special programs, these opportunities reflect the heart of our school and the care we have for our students.
